Connecticut Man Runs 46 Miles For Hunger Awareness

Bookwell Travel, a first-class booking and trip planning platform, and Eviivo an all-in-one booking software, recently donated 82,500 meals to food banks within the Mid-Atlantic, and New England regions.  End 68 Hours of Hunger was one of the beneficiaries of this community-based effort. We would like to recognize Brian Gates from Bookwell Travel and Mike Weimann from Eviivo for their generous donation of $8000 in food for our Dover Program and local food pantry.

Brian Gates, founder of Bookwell Travel committed to run for 12 hours on New Years Day from Mystic CT to Griswold CT to raise awareness of the hunger crisis. Upon arriving in Griswold, a 46 mile journey, Gates donated 10,000 nonperishable food items to St. Mary’s Food Pantry. “We want to start 2021 off right. 2020 was one of the most difficult years we have ever seen, and we want to start 2021 by bringing good to our community and the world,” said Gates.  “I can think of no better way to start the year than by personally running to raise awareness of our hunger crisis and making an impact at one of our local food pantries.”
End 68 Hours of Hunger works every day to end hunger and with partners like Bookwell Travel, we will be successful! What would you do to end hunger?!
